Once upon… when we were young,
Once with the power of life and death in our tongue.
An unstoppable force in and among,
Yet, through you, I found breath in my lungs.

At that moment, I knew…
I knew it was you I needed,
And so I pleaded,

"Through all, take me with you,"

I said, defeated.

The clouds yearned with me.
For even Earth knew… it was me you were meant to be.

So I ask,

Can I…
Can I be the love you never knew you could have and ever hoped to be?
For life to you is nourishment unto me.

"What?"
