In the Beginning

By: Dominic Dyes

Genre: Religious

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear,
But of power and of love and of a sound mind,
For let those who have the ears to hear,
Seek him, and him only shall they find,
Jesus, the Way, the Truth, the Life,
So I ask,
Death, where is your sting?
Wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities,
And it came to pass after these things,

Goodness and mercy shall follow me
All of the rest of my days,
I will dwell in the house of the Lord,
So hear me when I say,

In the Beginning was the Word,
And the Word was God,
And the Word was with God,
That's the God we serve.
In the Beginning, the earth was void,
And from his throne, there came a voice,
Speaking life as Heaven observed,
The magnificence of the God we serve.

What manner of man is this
That the wind and waves obey him?
The Double-edged Sword,
Behold, the beauty of the Lord.
Without him, nothing made was made,
So I enter his courts with praise,
And I bless his holy name,
Because that's what he's worthy of,
So hear me when I say,

In the Beginning was the Word,
And the Word was God,
And the Word was with God,
That's the God we serve.
For men ought to always pray,
Despising not the day,
These light afflictions work for us an exceeding glory weight.

In the Beginning, the earth was void,
And from his throne, there came a voice,
Speaking life as Heaven observed,
The magnificence of the God we serve.
In the End, we reign with Christ,
Not by power, nor by might,
But by his spirit, sayeth the Lord.
This is our final heavenly form,

Spending eternity with the God we serve.

He is the deliverer,
Above all, He's the Living Word.
He is the deliverer,
Above all, He's the Living Word.

I love you, Lord.
Thank you.
