Get Up and Live

Genre: Religious
I Choose life, more abundantly,
Over Loss, less grudgingly.
I choose Spirit, in the fullness of his grace,
Over sin, in the emptiness of hate.
For through the power of the cross,
Over thick and then,
Has, by the mercy of our Father in Heaven, erased where I have been.
So I must ask,
Death, where is your sting?
Pain, where is your ring?
Over these things, have we forgotten?
That a man that is alive but not living
Is committing an atrocity upon himself and others,
Missing the understanding that the giving of what you have to offer
Is irrefutable in a world where we are authors who strive
To push forward a world in spite of scoffers.
We won't give up,
For who knows what it would mean to a world deprived,
If you truly lived and allowed yourself to
Live and Thrive.
The old life is gone, for a defining past becomes a corral of learned lessons over lore,
A new man is formed, for he has been shaped in the elegance of a past no more.
Washed clean in the power of his glory,
Praise God, I've been adorned.
